This isn't exactly messy, but I had a question, maybe someone could answer. So I've been growing my hair out for a while now. It's pretty long, well past my shoulders. Last time I got a little cut was over a year ago.
Is it normal to be shedding hair all the time? I'm talking like, I wash my hair and I get these strands of hair in my hands the second I start rubbing in the shampoo, conditioner, more hair, I dry my hair with a towel, more hair strands in the shower...blow dry my hair, hair...brush my hair, hair...run my hands through my hair, hair...I'm not talking like big clumps, but single strands coming out, but it seems like there's a lot of them...there's constantly tons of strands of hair all over my floor, I think I've picked it all up, and then I see more.
Makes me weary about even getting messy again. I don't know how my Sister dyes my hair, she's really rough about it, rubbing it in, pulling my hair, I feel like I must lose huge clumps then, but she never says anything like "Damn you're losing tons of hair bro, maybe we shouldn't do this." but maybe she just doesn't want to say anything? I don't think I'm balding, but maybe it's slowly happening?
Then I think of animals, they're constantly shedding...I pick up my cat, I got hair all over me, but their hair isn't long like mine, no way my head is replenishing those long strands instantly?
Sorry if this is weird, I was just curious if anyone had any input.
Yes, it's quite normal to lose some hair while washing. I have long haie (for a guy) and no matter how good the shampoo and conditioner you'll always lose some hair. It's precisely the reason why you get hair traps for the bath and shower so the pipes don't get clogged.

But your hair looks good, and amazing!!!
Yup, I learned that. Used to have to use one of them plastic clog sticks with the pointy ends...I know there's a name for them haha, but that worked okay, but was a pain, so I got a hair catcher plug, works wonders, but it's scary emptying that thing after showers haha.
